JAN NICHOLAS BLOM OF THE SILENCIO​

The Silencio are a 4-piece pop-rock band hailing from South East Queensland’s tourist hotspot, the Gold Coast. With an ever evolving and maturing sound since their inception back in 2014, the band have landed firmly on their feet with the March 2019 release of their new single ‘Same But Different’.

The title of the song, whilst explaining that culturally we need to accept that not one person is the same and to be more accepting of one another, has a double meaning in that it leans against the band’s sound having changed drastically from their 2017 album release, ‘Anathema’.

‘Anathema’ saw the band tour nationally across Australia on 3 separate occasions in support of each of the 3 lead singles from the album with the title track’s release and subsequent tour gaining them attention from Triple J’s Ciaran Lyons.

The band is now in the studio working on follow up tunes to comprise a full-length release due later in the year with more singles launching every couple of months in the meantime.
